Hi, stumbled across your blog while I was reading Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh and I love your blog! Also, I was very delighted to know that your daughter’s name is also Saya! We named our 3 year old daughter Saya, too! We don’t meet to many African Americans by the name of Saya, especially in the U.S. My husband is in the military and our older two, ages 5 and 3, were born in Okinawa, Japan! Oh by the way, my son’s middle name is Musashi! We loved Okinawa and hopefully we’ll be able to go back to show the children their birthplace. Once again, LOVE your blog and your family! And Saya is such a cutie pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the late reply…..but my son’s middle means samurai. I taught an English conversation class back in Okinawa and I let my students give my son his name and we LOVE it!!!!

I love that you let your students choose your son’s middle name. That sounds like fun. Saya doesn’t have a middle name, but she always makes up new middle names for herself 🙂
